HISTORY OF THE SMUGGLERS RUN

The Smugglers Run opened in 2019 after major refurbishment to bring this historic pub back to life.

The original parts of the pub date back at least 200 years and is understood to have been part of the smuggling route in Christchurch. Smugglers would arrive at Mudeford and travel over Stanpit Marsh, using the local public houses to remain hidden and distribute their haul.
